The design of the building was
to enhance the area and provide a
distinctive building on a prominent site
The new facility provides modern,
well equipped accommodation for a
large GP practice, PCT healthcare
facilities and training facilities.
The planning of the building and the site
was constrained by a wide easement
to a large sewer running across the
middle of the site, and the need to
respect the privacy of the neighbouring
residential houses. The accommodation
is arranged around a large two storey
entrance and waiting area incorporating
a glazed ‘Mall’ which provides openers
and transparency through the building
producing a welcoming and friendly
environment.
