Cardiology Wards
Client: Huddersfield Royal Infirmary
Location: Huddersfield
Architectural Services: Architects
Floor Space:
Cost: £m

We have carried out a number of
projects for Huddersfield Royal
Infirmary over the last five years. One
such example is the new Cardiology
Ward.

Works progressed over a number of
years whilst the Trust and ourselves
raised enough funds for the ‘Heart of
Huddersfield Appeal’. The appeal was
widely supported in Huddersfield with
The Huddersfield Examiner Newspaper
playing an important role. Once the £½
million had been found work began as
soon as possible.

The scheme is now complete and
provides a 7 bd Coronary Care Unit at
Its centre which delivers intensive care
to patients. Alongside this are various
examination rooms and training rooms
such as ECG, Angio and Resuscitation
rooms. The scheme was designed to
give a bright and modern feel with the
use of strong flooring colours and light
walls and ceiling. The ward is fully air
conditioned and has modern patient
care facilities.
