The design concept for the new school was partly dictated by the site constraints and partly by the objectives to maximise the provision of natural daylight and adopt passive ventilation principles
The concept of two opposite arcs with a central link achieved our design objectives. The public library is located on the front corner of the arc in the most prominent position for easy access. The café dining area is shared with the library, and the increased massing of the hall, café and entrance provide a focus to the design.
